As-salamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, beloved brother or sister on the path. Welcome to Amany Shalaby’s blog Hidden Pearls: Spiritual Reflections Inspired by the Qur’an. Over the course of time, Amany hopes to post commentaries, insights, and inspirations based on her understanding and contemplation of the Holy Qur’an, insha’allah with Allah’s mercy and guidance.
The Inspiration
Allah has a way of bringing people together at the perfect time and in the perfect way in order to facilitate beautiful manifestations of His truth and His knowledge, insha’allah. One of SSC’s devoted beloveds is in the process of turning old cassette tapes of Sidi Muhammad’s teachings and recitations into .mp3 files (listen to Sidi’s recitation of suras 81-84 here). In that process Amany assisted her in identifying Qur’anic suras Sidi recited many years ago, alhamdulillah. At the same time, SSC’s chairman, Abdul Latif Howard was inspired to invite Amany to contribute to SSC’s blog whenever she felt inspired. Amany spoke with the beloved who requested her help with the recitations and together they came up with the idea of creating a blog on this site containing Amany’s commentaries on the Qur’anic ayat Sidi was recited, as a start, and anything else she wanted to share with the community. In this beautiful way Allah is bringing through His holy teachings in a forum that insha’allah will benefit our community.
