This hijama training serves and supports the following people:

Those with a sincere desire to learn how to give this blessed therapy to others, (even if you don’t have any previous experience in hijama or the healthcare fields).
Those who have only received online hijama training.
Those who have learned only how to give just “two cups.”
Any experienced practitioner wanting to deepen their skills and confidence.

Our beloved Messenger, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, reported to us:
“I did not pass by an angel from the angels on the night journey except that they all said to me: ‘Upon you is cupping (hijama), O Muhammad.’ “

Prophetic hadith and hijama sunnah principles and practices
How to describe and offer hijama to others
The use of our medical history questionnaire and informed consent
Step-by-step instruction on how to administer hijama
Supervision while you give two hijama healings
Opportunity to receive two hijama sessions
The economics of hijama: costs, discerning if you want to charge, honoring our tradition of both practitioner and client giving sadaqa
Offering the “cupping promise” at the end of the training.
A certificate of course completion from the University of Sufism.
A follow-up webinar on Oct. 24, 2024, to give you additional teachings and to support you giving hijama sessions to people in your community.

Our Guide, Sidi Muhammad al-Jamal ar-Rifa’i ash-Shadhili, qaddasallahu sirrahu, gave us the training and permission to offer hijama in the way of our Prophet, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, as a trust. Our prayerful intention is to share with you what we received so that you may carry this trust and become a vehicle for the healing baraka Allah flows this most holy and blessed of therapies, insha’allah.

Other Important Information

All participants will need to bring eight cups and a suction gun. These supplies are included in the Hansol Cupping Therapy kit available from Amazon for $28.92.
Your tuition covers all additional materials necessary to give two hijama treatments.

Participate as an Aspiring Teacher

We (Wadude, Rahima, and Mahabbah) are planning to develop a hijama teacher certification program in the near future, With that in mind, we invite you to participate in the hijama training in the role of an aspiring teacher. As an aspiring teacher you will not be giving and receiving hijama treatments. Instead, your role and participation will be similar to that of a teaching assistant and somewhat informal and varied, insha’alla. You will receive:

The opportunity to “listen with the ears of a teacher,” rather than those of a student, discerning along the way which elements you imagine putting into your own trainings.
The chance to witness an insha’allah worthy example of the most important components to include in a basic training.
The space to learn how to use the handouts and reference materials we have developed for hijama trainings.
The support of a group of like-minded beloveds who are also moving towards becoming certified hijama teachers.

A Call to Service

Further, we invite you to come with the intention of serving Allah, the teaching, the primary teachers, and the students. We ask that you commit to holding the group and creaing the sacred space so integral to the holiness of the hijama process.

Service may also look like helping set up or clean up the classroom space as needed. Although most of the teaching topics will be delivered by others, we anticipate you will find incidental opportunities to coach and support our beginning students. (e.g., coaching during hijama dyads, helping students walk through fears related to use of scalpels, sharing your love of hijama and what Allah has given you, etc.).

The Promise

At the end of the training, we anticipate that all of us will take the “hijama promise” together. It is our prayer that, through this promise, Allah will send His baraka to grant you success in receiving the support needed to become a certified hijama teacher.

After the training we will invite you to 2 follow-up webinars

Oct 14, 2024 @ 11:00 am – 12:30 pm ET
For the basic training students to give them additional teachings and to support them giving hijama sessions to people in their community. You will be invited to not only witness how we deliver a follow-up webinar, but also to contribute your wisdom and experience to the group.

Nov 4, 2024 @ 11:00 am – 12:30 pm ET
Special meeting only for those who attended the training as an aspiring teacher to debrief your experience in the training, hear your feedback, receive your input, and more.

Prerequisite

To serve as an Aspiring Teacher you must have given at least 10-15 hijama sessions on your own before the training begins.

Cost

We are asking you to make a voluntary, heartful contribution as an expression of your service to the success of the training. Suggested sadaqah: $150 to $320. Given your own financial situation you may be guided to give more or less.
