What Is A Chaplain (Hakim)?
Physicians care for the body. Psychologists care for mental health. Chaplains care for the wellness of the soul and its sacred values. Chaplains are clerics, such as imams, pastors, or rabbis, who serve at a secular institution to provide spiritual care for people, regardless of their faith backgrounds. Chaplains can work in hospital, hospice, corporate, non-profit, prison, youth organization, and university settings.
The chaplain facilitates a way for the individual to cope with life’s challenges, to find meaning in life, to explore new possibilities, to enhance their awareness of the sacredness of life, and to discover a source of inner joy, and peace. The chaplain, like a physician, provides compassionate spiritual care for everyone, without discrimination.
Our Mission
We train chaplains to answer questions pertaining to one’s faith and to care for people’s spiritual wellness and their relationship with God.
The Hakim Clinic
The Hakim Clinic provides spiritual care for anyone who is suffering and wishes to speak with a person of faith. We have on-call hakims available every day.
