and Your Community!
The Sidi Memorial Scholarship aims to:
- Support beloveds in deepening their walking, education and connection to Allah swa
- Enrich the broader community (tariqa) through the gifts students bring back to their communities as they have walked through the programs
- Demonstrate SSC’s support for beloveds pursuing diverse personal Sufi studies, including Arabic/Persian language courses, Hajj/Umrah travel, or other educational opportunities that align with SSC’s mission.
Application and Review Process
- All applicants will submit an application, outlined below.
- Grant applications will be reviewed by a committee of volunteer reviewers.
- In some cases, clarifications may be requested by the reviewing committee.
- Once an application has been reviewed, the results will be communicated to the applicant, along with next steps.
- Applicants who have been awarded a grant must provide a final report outlining exactly how the award was used and the impact the project had on their community.
Possible Uses of Grant Funding
Examples of how the scholarship funds could be used include, but are not limited to:
Attending programs/retreats based in Sufism, in ours or another Sufi community
Educational studies furthering one’s Islamic knowledge
Relevant leadership training to be put into practice within our community
Other programming that supports a beloved’s walking and/or strengthening of the communities we serve.
Note: At this time the University of Sufism is not accepting scholarship funding from SSC, so unfortunately we are not able to award scholarship funds towards attending University of Sufism programming.
