“The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to people.
– The Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam (al-Muʻjam al-Awsaṭ 6/139)
The most beloved deed to Allah is to make a Muslim happy,
or to remove one of his troubles,
or to forgive his debt,
or to feed his hunger.”
What is the Beloveds In Need Program?
The Beloveds In Need program was formed over a decade ago to provide financial assistance to community members who find themselves in a crisis-like situation. If a community member can’t afford food, rent, medical expenses, or other basic necessities they can apply for immediate financial assistance here. The intention of the fund is to offer help when needed for one-time difficult situations. The fund does not provide ongoing financial support.
A few examples of how this fund is intended to be used:
- You have unexpectedly been laid off from work and you can’t pay your rent or mortgage this month. You need help while trying to find new employment.
- You were recently diagnosed with a disease that significantly impacts your ability to function and you can’t work and/or afford the recommended medical treatment.
- Your spouse has passed away and you can’t afford the funeral costs.
This Program Doesn’t Just Provide Money
The Beloveds In Need committee has been deeply asking the question, “What do beloveds in financial crisis truly need, at the deepest level, besides money? What else can support them in their walking with their current situation?”
As a result of this question and the Divine Guidance received in response, beloveds who are given assistance are now also offered the opportunity to receive free healings, if they so choose. Alhamdulillah! Allah is the Most Merciful, Most Compassionate, Most Generous. And He hears our every need and answers every prayer.
How It Works
A community member who needs assistance simply completes an online application (here). Within 48 hours the application is reviewed by a dedicated committee comprised of members of our Board of Directors and volunteers. A member of the committee then reaches out to the applicant and a communication process ensues which results in the applicant receiving the help they need, insha’allah.
To be eligible to apply for financial assistance you must be a community member who has taken hand with Sidi, a Murshid, a Murabbi, or a Muqaddam.

“They say that you know who you can really count on during the tough times. Well, if you knew me and my situation of late, you would know that I’ve had some ongoing times tough enough for the history books — unreal, heartbreaking tough times. And when I didn’t have anyone else to turn to, my Sufi community showed up for me and my family completely. With love, compassion, and urgency, when it was required. Without an ounce of judgement or scorn. The assistance, including emergency assistance, that I have received from the Beloved in Need Fund during these times have kept me and my family afloat when we could have been left completely destitute. It gave me hope, filled me with gratitude, and helped me experience the living example of our Prophet, peace be upon him, in helping those in need.

“I am so thankful for and inspired by those members of our Sufi community involved in this Fund, whether it be the individuals working on the committee or those who have donated to the Fund. It makes me proud to be a member of our community, and I can only imagine how proud Sidi would have been. As I, inshallah, start gradually moving into a situation where I pray to be fully financially independent, I am so glad that this fund exists for those other Beloveds in our community who might find themselves in need.”
How You Can Help People In Need
The Beloveds In Need Fund provides financial assistance to those who have taken hand with Sidi and find themselves needing financial support. For almost two decades this fund has helped countless community members move through challenging times, by the grace and mercy and love and abundance of Allah, Most High.
