“I want you to forget your sins from now on. Do not keep remembering your sins. I see everyone and what sins they committed. I can see it in your eyes. I can tell each of you what sins you committed. I say to conceal that and forget about it. Allah is the Concealer. He conceals our faults, pardons, and forgives us. I do not want you to dwell in the past and keep remembering your sins. Seek his forgiveness. I ask Allah to forgive you because He is the Most Compassionate and Most Merciful.” – Sidi
The first condition is to remember Allah.
This practice takes place on nine nights over a five-week period. Sidi says to do it on consecutive Thursdays and Sundays (Thursday – Sunday – Thursday OR Sunday – Thursday – Sunday). (Sunday – Thursday – Sunday OR Thursday – Sunday – Thursday)
- On the first three nights repeat, “astagẖfiru-llah al-ʿadhim wa atubu ilayh” 3,000 times.
- On the second three nights repeat, “la ʾilaha ʾilla-llah” 3,000 times.
- On the third three nights repeat, “allahumma salli `ala sayyidina Muhammadan wa alihi wa sallam” 3,000 times.
f you are unable to do your recitations on Sunday night, you can do them instead on the following Wednesday night. If you are unable to do your recitations on Thursday night, simply wait until the next Sunday to continue the practice.
