Dear Imam,
I hope you are well.
I am writing to ask for your guidance regarding the Eid prayer. Nanny muslim nanny is going home, due to her flight she will be arriving at Blaise Diagne International Airport in Dakar at approximately 06:15 on the morning of Eid (her sister tells her it is going to be the 18th). As you know, the Eid prayer usually takes place shortly after sunrise until 9am and at this point it is unsure if she would be able to make it to the mosque on time and she feels she will be rushed and stressed.
If it is possible to reach a mosque in time for the Eid prayer, we understand that this would be preferable. However, if travel from the airport or other delays make this difficult, could you kindly advise what is recommended in this circumstance? For example, would it be acceptable to attend a later Eid congregation if one is available, or to perform the Eid prayer individually if the main congregation has already taken place?
We would be very grateful for your advice on what would be considered the most appropriate and recommended practice.
She is very afraid that not attending prayer will invalidate her fasting and all of Eid. Could you please provide some enlightenment?
Thank you very much for your time and guidance.
Kind regards,
Alexandra
