Ah! Iblis, the accursed!
The smokeless fire of desires within you
Refusing to prostrate to you in submission!
O Adam! Out of your garden of satisfaction!
With endless smokeless desires
Burning, paining, and agonizing you!
Your desire claim to be better than what you already have!
Desire claims it can get you eternal happiness
If you but fulfill it!
Desire after desire
Unfulfillable like forbidden fruits!
You consume without satiety!
But just as the smokeless fire of desire burns
Know that it can illuminate and warm!
And so, just as it confuses it can clarify
And just as its flame sizzles it is a veil behind which Divinity speaks!
Had not God spoke to Musa from behind the bush?
Seek refuge in Him from your smokeless fire
And He will halt the burning, the pain and the agony
Keeping only its light illuminating an inner passage
Through which you can see a Garden emerging
In which you can roam freely
And every desire of yours is fulfilled!
The meanings of your desires will be revealed
Transforming you into a cupbearer
Who pours to earth a taste of Paradise!
